Things you need when you're grieving

hello guys!!! so this week has definitely been the most challenging for me. Most of you may know that I have just lost an uncle of mine. We were not so close but he was the youngest of my moms sibling. My mom isn't doing so well but my siblings and I have come up with ways to get her not to grieve for too long and forget that she is still alive lol. so below are some of the things we did.

  • African parents always have something to complain about, so we tried to eliminate the things that she usually starts yelling about
  1. dishes were done
  2. her favorite food was cooked
  3. house cleaned
  4. the door was closed- nobody came in unless they lived here or were important
  5. we slept on time
  6. let her watch her CNN
  7. bought her some calling cards to call home to kenya
  8. gave her a phone to call her friends since she just washed her phone recently
  9. made her get some sleep
  10.  talked to her about how stupid kids are at school to destruct her from getting bored
  11. used the youngest bro to sweet talk her about everything and anything
  • seriously all the above has helped her so much and in return we don't feel as bad cause it could really have been bad. Our situation right now isn't over, so we still trying to figure things out day by the day until we can forget. Things never go back to normal... we just have to get back to the usual.
